Ice Miners Name Yusko New GM |

Indiana, PA – On Wednesday, the Indiana Ice Miners of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced Bob Yusko as their new General Manager.
Bob was the former director of game day operations for Mon Valley. "Bob will be a great asset for the organization" said owner Fidel Jenkins.
Bob will be leading the Ice Miners new charge this season with new season tickets prices and game day promotions.
The Indiana Ice Miners will begin defense of their 2007-2008 regular season championship in November 2008 when the MAHL begins its second season.

Ice Miners Get New Bench Boss |

CANTON, Ohio – On Monday, the Indiana Ice Miners of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League announced the signing of Christian Panaia as their new head coach for the upcoming 2008-2009 MAHL hockey season.
Panaia is returning to the MAHL having played for the Mon Valley Thunder in the MAHL’s inaugural season. From 2000-2006 Panaia was a hockey instructor and advisor to the International Hockley College.
“I am very proud to be returning to the Mid-Atlantic league this year,” said Panaia at his signing. “The Miners were an incredible team last season and I hope to give the Miners’ fans the same winning philosophy from last year.”
The Indiana Ice Miners finished the MAHL’s inaugural regular season with a 31-1-0 record and were named the first league champion.
"He brings solid player development skills," said owner Fidel Jenkins. "He has great player relations and he's ready to step up and lead the team."
MAHL president Andrew Haines was excited about the signing of Panaia as the Miners bench boss. “Last year the Ice Miners had a terrific regular season campaign and Christian has some big shoes to fill this season,” said Haines. “The MAHL and the Ice Miners’ organization are excited about Christian taking over the coaching reigns and leading the Miners this season.”
“The Ice Miners’ fans were very supportive of the club last season and we expect that Christian will give the fans more reason to come out this season to support the club,” said Haines.

Mid-Atlantic Hockey League and PHN, Inc. sign agreement
RIO RANCHO, NM – PHN, Inc., the parent corporation of prohockeynews.com, is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League to provide media relations services to the MAHL for the upcoming 2008-2009 professional hockey season.
The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League will enter its second year of operation in November 2008 and PHN, Inc. will develop press releases and media relations efforts for the MAHL and its member franchises.
The agreement was reached this week between Andrew Haines, MAHL president and founder, and the ownership group of PHN, Inc. as a collaboration in the interest of assisting the MAHL in developing a comprehensive media effort to better reach the league’s and franchises’ fans.
Haines was instrumental in approaching PHN, Inc. and developing the effort to improve the MAHL’s press relations and media efforts.

Warriors relocating to Trenton, Michigan |

CANTON, OH – The Warriors of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League have announced their relocation to Trenton, Michigan for the upcoming 2008-2009 MAHL season.
The Warriors finished the inaugural season in the MAHL with a 14-14-2 record, good enough for second place in the league including 14 home dates in Wooster.
“We are excited by the move of the Warriors to Trenton (Michigan) for the coming season,” said MAHL president Andrew Haines. “This is an ideal position for the team and the league.”
Trenton, a city of more than 20,000 in southeastern Michigan, has a thriving hockey community and provides the MAHL with a solid presence in the Midwest.
The Warriors will take the Trenton moniker and play in the Kennedy Recreation Center. The Center is a state-of-the-art community-based facility with a 1,000-seat capacity in addition to luxury suites.

FANZ-TV signs Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL) to one-year broadcast contract |
BURBANK, CA, April 1 – FANZ-TV Network, a 24-7 Sports Television Network, announced today that it has signed the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL) to a one-year broadcast deal for the 2008-09 season that includes a future two-year option. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The announcement was made today at a press conference in Burbank, CA by Rod Myers, President of FANZ-TV.
President/CEO Rod Myers stated, "We are thrilled to have signed the MAHL as our first “Single A” professional hockey league to a national network broadcast contract. We continue to move forward to our goal of a recognized credible sports television network. We understand the MAHL is rebuilding their league and we are elated that they have chosen to work with FANZ-TV as their television partner. We will do everything we can to assist them in building into a league that grooms great talent that is able to move to the next level and generates interest in the league. We feel that this partnership will be mutually beneficial for us both.”
FANZ-TV will air a single Game of the Week and also carry the entire post-season and the 2008-09 MAHL Championship games live. A weekly “Inside the MAHL” show will be produced as a support for the league.
